No Way Forward No Way Back

“True morality consists not in following the beaten track, but in finding the true path for ourselves, and fearlessly following it.”

This morning’s dream suggested that no matter how hard I tried no door would open for me. There is no way forward and no way back. Short of taking the Path of the Dead and seeking the Stone of Erech there is not much I can do. I cannot summon an army of undead oath breakers here in this compound.

I have always had a knack of seeing possibilities where most struggle and I can sometimes understand wider implication and consequence. I may sometimes see these way ahead of others, something which wins me no friends.

I also like to hold several interpretations of situations simultaneously.

I am not in position to have much of an effect irrespective of what my speculations may suggest. My understanding is that it is not down to me.

This is a bit of a binary situation; it is either completely insignificant or potentially much more so. There is not really any middle ground. There are two “towers” on either side. I know what these represent. Things could carry on just as they are or take a sudden turn. The door is closed.

I am no longer keen on smashing my head against a brick wall.

I suspect that I am at best a minor “loose end” which remains stubbornly untidy. Not a big thing, a  bit of a minor niggle.

I personally like seemingly impossible situations. They are not to everyone’s taste.

The situation with the house here is that we know it is too big for us so there is a push to downsize. It is chronic not acute. We have yet to find anywhere, a destination or a purpose which acts as a pull. Thanks to Trump and Netanyahu the economic climate has worsened. Which makes moving harder.

We are in a limbo for the house and limbo for my hip replacement. There will be months.

This state of hiatus is perhaps prevalent in our times. We may be waiting for something which never comes. We may need some excuse some pretext to initiate some action. There may need to be an omen or a sign to light the blue touchpaper or fire the starter’s gun. The entrails of the sacrificial goat must speak well to us of the auguries.

I think it fair to say that planning blight is high right now, globally.

Many things which might have been started or progressed are a little on hold.

It seems only natural that we might find ourselves with no way forward or no way back…the world too seems very stuck.
