Logically the concept of fate is an outcome of karma. Fate is the integral over all karma. And in a world where reincarnation happens, destiny is the integral of fates measured over all lifetimes. Genuine acceptance of the concept of karma means that we do not act with impunity there are always consequences to our actions, thoughts and words. Genuine belief in karma negates all the pissing and moaning and whinging about what happens in our lives. Because at one level we caused it and we called it forth. The fault, if you like, is ours.

Accepting responsibility for our actions and behaviours is liberating. We are no longer justified in the blame game and interminable finger pointing. This forever blaming everything and everyone else is not something that humans readily let go of. The lessons of karma are long; protracted and can seem painful dependent upon one’s orientation and attitude. If one is sulky and petulant karma is just another thing to blame in a bilious and resentful manner.

In the logic of fate if you stumble upon this blog you were fated to do so. Every single action in your lives up to date has had the consequence of you arriving here. It may not be a big deal or it might.

If you alter the initial conditions of any trajectory you alter the outcome, the likelihood of you finding and reading this blog is very low. I am not pushing it via SEO and on line marketing technique. I am not trying to sell or flog you anything.

Fate will either lead you here or it will not. My fate has led me here at least for now. Where that evolves to, is yet to be seen. Our initial conditions vary. In this lifetime I was born into a body or vehicle which has some intelligence and a predilection for research, looking into things.

The scope of my residual fate looks limited. My assessment is that there is not much left for me to do before I succumb to the  inevitable. I could be accurate or inaccurate in this assessment. Only retrospect will give an insight into the nature of what my residual fate turns out to be. 

The logic of fate is that you are responsible for landing on this page in one way or another. You were fated so to do. For a few seconds our fates will cross until you click away. Only fate “knows” if our interaction is anything more than a brief encounter on the internet. I have no idea of your motives. Whatever motivated you to arrive here may give rise to unintended outcomes and consequences.

To try to follow the trajectories of karma and dependent arising is of a complexity beyond my ken in all but the simplest of cases. The permutations are infinite. They can blow your mind.

The logic of fate is that although we assume free will it is not entirely free, there is an inherent causality which we cannot escape. What we do has consequences whether we like to acknowledge that or not.

I am not exclusively to blame for you tipping up here on this page today. You had a hand in it too!!

It is not my fault…

If something is fated you cannot avoid it completely. You may be able to delay it a little. You may resist and bemoan what fate has in store for you. Or you might try to willingly evolve your fate and welcome it with open arms. After all, you by your actions and thoughts, have chosen it. It is your fate.

If you are unhappy with your fate it is you who have chosen that attitude.

Trying to put off and avoid fate is assuming that you know better than the universe and that the laws of karma do not apply to you. You are special and not beholden. You are so clever that you can cheat fate. You can fool and outwit the Moirai. You alone can “get away with it”. You are cunning and omniscient. You can wing it forever.

We all make our choices which seal our fate.

Trying to avoid fate is illogical.
