Not Letting Go and Cancer
People can hold grudges, harbour envies and vituperative anger, they can have glowing embers of vengeance and sharp needles of spite. They can have malignant carcinomas of ill will which they project mentally towards others. They can hold these tight in a white-knuckled clenched fist which putrefies into a vinegar soaked bitterness with age. Smelling of piss in the old folks home they are radioactive with ire. They can make themselves ill with nastiness and hatred.
This, a form of metaphorical cancer in their being, can metastasise throughout their body and entire life. These unpleasant emotions can become a raison d'être for them which may not find any consummation. Failure to let go of gripe and grievance can colour a life and cloud it tempestuously. It can lead to an addictive obsession with individuals, races or nations. The American vengeance for 9/11 wrought havoc around the world and solved little. It serves little constructive purpose.
Not letting go is a form of self-induced suffering which you may seek to share or visit upon another being. It can be a black hole in the fabric of life and make people stuck. They can be stuck with and by a gripe for decades. It can gnaw at their gizzards and they cannot dissolve it or let it blow away on a light summer breeze. They cling to “it” with a passion and a determined resilience which might be used better elsewhere.
The media, art and literature like a good vengeance plot line. It satisfies a cruel macabre and dark longing in some. The desire to get even can be tantamount. It is dark and hopes for a power based humiliation of victim. It wants temporary power over another, to show them who is boss and to punish them. It seeks a taste of being a vengeful Deity.
However in terms of enlightenment it is a stupid and unnecessary waste of time. Rising above the petty Abrahamic notion of shared eye for an eye mutual blindness is liberating. One can move on and be flexible free and fluid.

The trouble is many appear to like this bitter feeling of being “hard done by” and “it is not fair mummy”. They cannot let go easily and they choose to remain stuck hard and fast into this feeling of being “oh-so justified in malice”.
Letting go often means surrendering malice it can, on a lighter note, mean letting go of regret.
To live in the realm, the land, the domain of “if only” is to suffer the sepia tinged flavour of melancholy as opposed to the white hot sulphuric lava of malice.
Clench your fist as tight as you can, hold it for a full minute. Let it go and open your palm in a relaxed manner. Tip you hand palm up. Have look at your open hand.
Repeat and make your mind up as to which makes most sense.

Is failure to let go keeping you stuck?
Does “it” eat away at you?
