What is an Emanation ?

In a strict sense, tulku is a Tibetan translation of the Sanskrit nirmāṇakāya, which refers to the "transformation" or "emanation body" of a Buddha.

Tulku is therefore the physical "form in which a Buddha appears to ordinary beings.”
